‘Outstanding’ Chelsea player appears to miss training ahead of League Cup semi-final vs Middlesbrough

Before Chelsea’s return to action later this week, one important player has yet to be observed in training.

The Cobham first team players were filmed on the club’s Twitter account leaving for a practice; nevertheless, Malo Gusto was not among his colleagues in the action.

With Reece James missing for several months due to an injury, Gusto has emerged as one of the Blues’ more crucial players in recent weeks.

Currently, it appears that the Frenchman is the only available full-back option that can play on both flanks and provide some attacking danger to the team.

Micah Richards recently called a performance he gave “outstanding”; his recent performances have validated the hoopla around him.

However, the fact that he didn’t appear to participate in training prior to tomorrow’s pivotal EFL Cup match may have caused some concern among Chelsea supporters.
Not seen in training is Gusto.

The Blues want to overcome a 1-0 first-leg deficit against Middlesbrough in order to secure a spot at Wembley for the championship game.

If they want to succeed, the performance must be far better, and Mauricio Pochettino should try to stay away from using the false nine style that he used the previous time around, in which Cole Palmer squandered numerous opportunities.

Axel Disasi will probably go to the right side of defence if Gusto is not well enough to play, which will cause them to lose a lot of their attacking options.

Ben Chilwell, who made his Premier League debut off the bench in Chelsea’s most recent victory over Fulham in September, will, at the very least, be looking to return to the starting lineup tomorrow on the left.
