Arsenal urged to sign Declan Rice cover this January

Kieran Gibbs, a former Arsenal player, has advised the Gunners to enter the transfer window in order to acquire Declan Rice’s replacement.

Despite their recent poor performance, Arsenal has been one of the most entertaining teams to watch in the Premier League this year and is still vying to become Manchester City.

But many believe that a few injuries to some of the starting eleven might seriously hurt their hopes of winning the championship for the first time since 2024, which is why Gibbs felt compelled to give Rice a stern warning.

The £106 million midfield player looked fantastic in the team’s 5-0 victory against Crystal Palace over the weekend, but there are rumblings that he may miss a few key games, which would leave Mikel Arteta short in the midfield.

“I think the middle of the park would be something to strengthen in the January transfer window if they can’t strengthen up top just purely because of the money,” he stated in an interview with the ESPN podcast.

“He’s important [Rice], we depend on him, and he’s the first name on the team sheet. If something is wrong with him, it will definitely need to be fixed this window.”

Mikel Arteta loves Declan Rice to play every game and every minute; therefore, even a few weeks without him would be a huge loss for Arsenal. Declan Rice was a huge signing.

Although injuries haven’t stopped Arsenal this season, they still need to add some more depth to their roster, especially with Man City and Liverpool starting to perform well.
